Lars Klareskog, MD

Lars Klareskog, MD, is Professor and Chairman of the Department of Rheumatology at the Karolinska Hospital, Stockholm, since 1993.

He trained as an immunologist and rheumatologist at the University of Uppsala in Sweden, and was Professor and Chairman of the Department of Clinical Immunology in Uppsala 1990-1993. His research interests are mainly in the immunopathogenesis and immunotherapy of arthritis and include research in both animal experimental models for arthritis and in human RA.

More recently, he has developed an interest and rsearch programs in epidemiology and in methods for using Swedish and other databases for monitoring of outcome in rheumatic diseases.
